Balblair 7yo Forgotten The Forgotten Gems collection is all about ensuring every last drop of deliciousness reaches the glasses of discerning drinkers, and this is another cracking find from the indie bottler. Seven-year-old Balblair single malt, and only 23 bottles. Tasting Note: Nose Mellow and fresh with yeasty dough, vanilla, and buttery shortbread, with a touch of peppery oak and green pepper beneath. Palate Silky layers of buttery oak, apricot, and vanilla fudge, with a touch of savoury grist in tow. There are notes of choc chip cookie dough, and a dusting of nutmeg warmth. Finish Softly spicy, with creamy barley, dulce de leche, cinder toffee, and lingering peppery toasted oak.
