Wild Turkey Master`s Keep Unforgotten

Wild Turkey whiskies are made from limestone-rich water from the Kentucky River, along with the highest quality rye and malted barley for complexity and depth, and 100% American-grown and non-GMO corn for balance of flavour. The spirit is distilled to a considerably lower proof than standard industry practice and the legal maximum of 80%. This means less water is added before barreling thus retaining more flavour. The whiskey ages in new American White Oak barrels with the deepest number 4 “Alligator” char for bolder flavours and deeper colour. Master's Keep Unforgotten serves as a testimony to Eddie Russell's experience and the legacy of the Wild Turkey Distilling Co. as one of the few Kentucky distilleries that has remained dedicated to the art of making exceptional rye whiskey. Unforgotten is a magnificent marriage of 13-year-old bourbon and 8- & 9-year-old rye whiskies - some of the oldest rye ever released by Wild Turkey Distilling Co. To perfect the liquid, the harmonized blend was finished in hand-selected rye casks for a secondary aging period in the pre-prohibition Rickhouse B – the favorite rickhouse of Eddie’s father, Master Distiller Jimmy Russell – and non-chill filtered. The result is an unexpected combination of fruit-forward aromas complimented by notes of caramel, and black peppercorn on the finish. The mature 13-year-old bourbon provides a backbone of caramel and oak, which is complemented by flavours of dried fruit, honey, black pepper and baking spice complexity from the 8- and 9-year-old ryes. The rye cask finishing imparts fresh fruit and green notes, offering something you don’t normally find with older bourbon or rye whiskies.
