Pagos is the Spanish word used to describe plots of vineyards in the Jerez area, so it's a fitting name for this Hampden Estate bottling, which is the first in the distillery’s history to be exclusively aged in sherry casks – Pedro Ximinez and oloroso, to be precise. Much like the way bold Islay whisky thrives in this cask profile, full-bodied, funky Jamaican rum also shines in full-term sherry maturation. Nose: Through aromatic wood and stewed plums comes more exotic fruit, nutmeg, and toasted nuts. Palate: Raisins, coconut, and vanilla join the party. Finish: Slightly herbaceous with more spice and mixed nuts.
